Welcome to the York Scout & Guide Gang Show  

The Gang Show serves the Scout Districts of York Ebor and Minster and the Girlguiding County of North Yorkshire South.  The main shows are normally held at two-yearly intervals in November at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York.  In the intervening years there is a Gang Show put together in a weekend; the Show in 2003 was performed in the city’s Rowntree Park the 2005 Show was in the Coppergate Centre, York and the 2007 Show at Snowball Plantation, York.

Membership of the Gang is open to anyone over 8 years, irrespective of age or ability.  Along with the performers on stage there is also a band of Directors, Stage Crew, Wardrobe, Make-up, Musicians, Front of House etc.

The cast learn not only the traditional performing skills of singing, dancing and acting but also the life skills of working together as a team, making new friends, taking direction, commitment, perseverance and also how to cope with the Directors’ tantrums!

The culmination of six months hard work (and fun) is the thrill of using the skills learnt to perform to full houses.  So if you are a member of the Scout or Guide movement in York, why not come and join the Gang at this year's full show in 2008.

Sign-on for the show will be June 17 & 19 and the Show dates are 25 – 29 November 2008 inclusive.
